using the audo output as input

I want to use the audio outputs on my computer as inputs, so I can record my drums. I have an Asus a-8n-sli deluxe, and I was wondering if there was a way to take the stereo outputs, and set them up as stereo inputs (using 2 mics per jack) and then record into a program such as audacity, or would I need a sound card with the 10 inputs I would need?

you would need a sound card, outputs are output only.

although you could get some splitters and hook all ten outputs into a single input, there would just be a loss of quality, dont know how much but there will be some.

Yeah, that'd be pretty much impossible.

You'll have to get hold of or borrow a mixer if you want to achieve that, that'll then output to a Line In on the sound card.
