Hey, I am a DJ and i have some lighting equipment that has a busted fan. However, the fan is a 92mm and i think i have found a good replacement. However, I only have a red and a black wire to connect to. So, I have found this fan, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811999617 which looks like its pretty powerful and should be able to cool the unit, but it has a stray yellow wire. Do i actually need to hook that wire to anything, or can i just cut it off. What about this fan, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811999028

In the pictures, it only shows a red and a black coming from the fan, but on the 4pin connector thing there is a small yellowwire. If i get that one, and cut off the 4 pin and solder red and black, would it still work?

Thanks,
Chris

"should". Lol

yeah. Just scrap the Yellow and it should Work.
Edit

And i'd Check the sorce of the Power for the fan. "the wire's" and make sure there 12V. or 6V. whatever kind of fan you wind up getting.
*just throwing in though's*
