Can i use a laptop charger for a compaq machine to charge my acer travelmate 280? The voltage is quite similiar ..my acer takes in 19v and the output on the compaq charger is 18.5. Im still not sure about the amps cause currently i dont have the charger with me now.
Anyone has any experience in this..and i heard that you must check the polarity on those chargers to make sure its compatible..How do i do that and what does that mean..thanks

Oh and yeah one more thing..actually i've tried charging it and it works..My laptop chargers properly but i just wanto be 100% sure if there is anything i need to check to avoid any problems...

If its not blown up yet it'l be fine. If the voltage is less than needed, then thats fine.
