i have a dell dimension 5100 and im wanting to upgrade my processor, at the moment its really slow, how can i see a list of possible cpus that ui can buy and fit?

I had a DELL Dimension 5000 5 years ago.
it's the same as yours, only difference is that your CPU is clocked a little higher, and i think you have a little more RAM.
at that time DELL had been some assholes and not added support for anything but the Pentium 4 CPU's.
they added support later for Pentium D's. you need to update your BIOS before it will take a Pentium D.
i'll advice you not to upgrade it. it's too old. build yourself a new PC.
btw: how much RAM do you have in it?

Putting this thread together with this one http://www.computerforums.org/forums/hardware/upgrading-ram-220321.html it's clear you are ready to move on. However, as Echo stated, that is an old computer and is a factory built one so upgrade paths are limited. I'd also recommend a new one instead of trying to upgrade this one.
