I was looking to upgrade my power supply, I understand that a better power supply would improve game performance?

Atm I am running:
- 7900GT.
- Intel Pentium 4 540J w/ HT Technology 3.2 GHz 1MB Cache
- ASUS PCI Express Motherboard with Intel 915G Express Chipset

I wanted to get one in the ~$100. This is the one I am looking at right now, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103931
Thoughts?

Newegg link wont load for me. Mind telling me what it is.

Well off the top of my head something aroudn 100 dollars would be the OCZ 520W powerstream, OCZ 600W gameXtreme or something, Antec truepower 550W, enermax 600W liberty which is roughly 130 i think.

Yeah any one of those would be good :classic:

its just fine, but its the same price as the 550, so better to go with the 550 obviously.

Hey again, I have heard that if you could have too much wattage on your power supply for your current setup, and could possibly fry your pc. Does this have any truth behind it, I should have no problems with a 550watt right?

yes, the antec truepower is what i am looking at right now, **just need to know really if a 550watt could be dangerous with my current setup**- heres another link to refresh your memory of what i plan to get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103931

Current setup
- 7900GT.
