Upgrading 2009 mac pro

Hello I have a 2009 mac pro that was running Yosemite ,a few months ago a would not boot and just kept boot cycling. I tried to reinstall the OS with the discs that came with it (snow leopard) but both the discs are corrupted and won't boot. I then figured I would clone the drive from another Mac that was running snow leopard. So here I am now with my cloned drive. One thing, I would like to get back running Yosemite or higher so if anyone knows anything please shoot me a post!

Update:
I downloaded a lion installer from getintopc.com and tried to run it but it gave a "cannot install additional components" error Here is the installer log

For anyone who is reading this to update their 2009 or later mac pro, I simply downloaded the El Capitan installer from apple (Download link) and then ran it. To check what version of MacOS/OS X your mac can run check out this article.
