upgrade wanted

Hi, im wanting to upgrade my system so i can play more current games at full,
currently i have a
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Gigabyte GA965 DS3 Mobo
2GB DDR2SD RAM
XFX NVIDIA 8800gt 512 640MHZ
i am looking for a SLI mobo,
posibly adding a second gpu, or selling my current one for one of the nvidia 9000 series
i play my games at 1680 by 1050 res if that helps
also im hoping to keep it as cheap as possible

Hum...sell that GPU and get an HD4870 if you can afford. Also if you want you can upgrade your CPU to a E3110/8400 and OC it. I'm not sure as far as the mobo. I think you might be able to keep it, else get 680i or something.

whats a cheapish gaming sli mobo?
cheap ranging from anything up to about 130
is possible ddr2 and 3 compatable

This one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131142) supports SLI, I don't think it supports Crossfire. DDR2 800.

Keep the board, sell the 8800GT, and buy a HD 4870. It will probably be cheaper to buy the 4870 and keep your board to adding another 8800GT, and the performance will be around the same.

Is your E6600 OC'ed?

ive tried to oc the e6600 but everytime i reset, it reverts back to stock
also i would rather upgrade the mobo to sli then its slightly more future proof
