Update on Parts List

so, you are an Aussie :)
Ok i see the problem. I though your budget was in USD.
Also i'll have to take Australians higher prices into a count.

I started looking at cheaper motherboards, but they are all just stripped from features. Like no RAID support and analog surround sound audio. No SLI or crossfire support. And some only had 2 RAM slots.
so i think it's a good idea to go back to Gen 4. You will also save a little going to DDR3 ram. (you can also buy DDR3 RAM supported motherboards for Gen6, but there are not that many options)

The GPU and SSD has also been stepped down in performance.

Because of the less power hungry GPU, it's alright to go down on the PSU as well.
What do you think of this? It's all from the same place and they ship to Australia. The price is 920 AUD (665 USD)
You will have to pay shipping, but i don't think that's gonna exceed the price if you bought the parts in Australia.
(I am just guessing here)

You don't fail to impress me haha!

I believe this list is perfect for my mate, will run it through with him tomorrow. Found the Intel i5 you suggested for $295 as well. Might go for the Cooler Master k380 shell along with a Seagate Barracuda 1tb for storage. Going to stick with Windows 7.

Thanks heaps for your help once again. Always good to know that you and few others are always knowledgeable and helpful whenever it is needed. Will contact you when everything is good!

Cheers!

You are welcome. Always glad to help.

Wait, i forgot to link the CPU.
Intel Core i5-4460 Haswell Quad-Core 3.2 GHz LGA 1150 BX80646I54460 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600 - Newegg.com

You can't use the previous cpu i suggested on this motherboard. That was a skylake CPU (gen 6). This is a haswell (gen4)

Ahh, I understand what you were talking about now lol. Cheers mate
