Hi I have a friend who owns a HP media center pc

and she has a problem :)

The network is not working, I have tried ipconfig /all and i get this error

Windows IP Configuration

An Internal Error Occured: The request is not supported

Please Contact Microsoft Product Support services for further help

Additional Information: Unable to query host name

also i cannot ping the local ip address as this comes up Unable to contact ip driver, Error 2

Help would be appreciated,

schultzy!

Is her network driver installed correctly? Also check for any network services not currently running. Let me know what you find.

yes the network drivers are properly installed, i have tried reinstalling them anyway,

all the network services are currently running too

thanks for quick reply,
schultzy :)

Make sure that TCP/IP protocol is installed for the network adapter. If so, run this command in a DOS prompt:

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

This will reset your IP stacks back to default.

Then try IPCONFIG and PING again.

Let me know what turns up.

I have already tried resetting the ip stacks, i just tried starting the DHCP client, and it doesnt wanna start...
