Hi everyone bit of a problem hoping someone knows what to do will try explain as best I can

I own a NAS I recently ran a backup from this nas using the Rsync protocol,

I used DeltaCopy for Windows to allow the Rsync to a windows pc, the backups ran perfectly completed no errors.

MY problem is that I changed a backup location on my computer all good but when I tried to delete the older backup it gives a error message saying that I will need permission from system administrator to delete this file and contents... I am logged in as administrator and cant delete the folders just gives errors

How can I fix this problem

What kind of NAS is it? are you trying to delete the old backup via the NAS or from the computer?

I suspect the NAS is trying to use credentials that the PC doesn't trust, or doesn't grant permission to delete things.

Sorry for slow reply been busy, it's a Netgear Readynas 104 and I have managed to remove the files now. But I was trying to delete the old backup from the windows computer side how I solved the problem was I think I took ownership of the folder and then changed some permissions on the windows folder. Is there a way of stopping this happening again as I don't want to be stuck with old backups that I can't delete

Should I change credentials on one of the devices

And crazy man you are always a great help and are always a person to reply on my threads and I thank you very much for this maby you can help me with another problem that I will create a new thread for
