To all you americans out their, the UK has what is called Freeview as well as the normal licensing scheme and Sky. Freeview offers around 30 channels for free but to view them you have to have a tv license which doesnt really make sense seeing as it is "Freeview". All the license pays for is the BBC as their is no commercial adverts. Terrestrial is nationwide and is going to be phased out starting in 2007. (Freeview has large coverage but lots of places currently cant get it)
