Turn a Straightrough cable into a crossover,FREE!

[FONT=verdana,arial]I Writ this guide on computer vitals,but i though i would post it here:

Ok,So you have a Straight-through ethernet cable,but need a crossover cable quick?

Well this guide is for you!

1.Cut the Cable in half.

2.Strip about 1.5" of the outer tubing off

3.Strip about 0.5" of plastic from each of the small wires inside.

4.Now you need to join the wires!

White Orange To White Green
Orange to Green
White Green to White orange
Blue to White Brown
White Blue to Brown
Green to orange
White Brown to Blue
Brown to White Blue

So it should look like:

-------------<>-------------
-------------<>------------
-------------<>------------
-------------<>------------

Now Grab some electrical tape and cover over every connection you made,as to make sure none of the copper wiring is exposed.

Now you have a Crossover cable!

very very very very useful information definately worth a sticky *

+1 havent tested this yet but i see no reason why it shouldnt work.
 
It does work,I Needed a cross over cable quite urgently,and couldnt find one.So i did research and found some diagrams of the two cables,and experimented! And it worked!
