transfer hard drive

Is it possible to remove my harddrive, with Windows xp on it, and install it into another computer and still read the data on it? I am under the impression that once you install Windows xp it has to stay with the same computer..please un-confuse me.....Thank you, Rich

Make sure your new computer has a similar, if not exact, setup on it. The drivers are the key issue when swapping drives between boxes.

If it's going to be used just to read data then you really have nothing to worry about. But if you hope to use it and boot from it, then you need to keep in mind what PVille said.
