time always wrong...

my grand father has a computer with windows 98 on it and the windows time never stays correct... is it the cmos battery? if not, how do i fix this?

CMOS battery. Replace it.

is it any kind of a coin battery or is it a special kind? could i get one from office depot?

Go to Radio Shack and ask for a CMOS battery. If you want, remove it from the system and show them.
