The download at the NetGear link is a 3rd party ethernet driver for online gaming. That's something totally separate from anything provided by your ISP for internet connection and works with the WoW game as an option. That won't correct the problems with the game crashing on you however.

The second link is for various downloads where you first choose the OS then the type of download like the latest bios update. Most likely that will see a Winflash type being a prebuild. For custom builds running older boards you oiften use a dos type tool you see placed on a bootable floppy or burned to a cd-r.

Many choose to first backup the current bios in case of a bad or imcomplete flash that amounts to the same thing before running for an update. Winflash updates are generally a little more reliable while you could still see a problem with one download needing another.

Often an updated bios version may contain a fix for a known bug being a prebuilt system there. It might even help with the problems you have been seeing.

Besides the free drive cleanup tool known as the "crap cleaner" found at http://www.ccleaner.com/ another freeware that could be very usefull for any long time installed copy of Windows is the free system registry cleaner by Eusing seen at http://www.eusing.com/free_registry_cleaner/registry_cleaner.htm

Nothing to buy with that one and it works faster and finds more being an updated cleaner over the rest tried out. Why a registry sweep?

Often uninstallers leave stuff behind in the registry still trying to load drivers if the original folders and files haven't already removed on programs no longer listed. At times those will clash and cause problems with the current software environment. Surprisingly on a system used regularly it doesn't take long for the garbage(invalid entries) to collect in there as well as all of the now useless temp folders CCleaner removes from the drive.

I am trying to backup my BIOS, so i can install the new ones, hoping that will solve the problem

showed me that it's possible to install new BIOS on a non-bootable CD

now all i have to do is find out how to back mine up and find the bios for the computer.
it says under system information that the Bios is Intel Corp. A03. does anyone know where the new version of that would be?

The one thing that keeps coming to mind is your mention of upgrading memory as well as the supply. If you saw a mismatch when mixing memory or replaced the original with the wrong type you would be seeing problems like you been there.

A bios update generally solves problems seen with an earlier bios version where a problem is discovered after the model board is already out. It won't solve memory problems.
