But won't the cost of keeping it up, be overwhelming?

Look at myspace.

You get enough people to join (and lets face it, free music is something everyone loves) and then your going to have all sorts of companies trying to advertise with this site.

True, but you'd think it'd cost a fortune to give out free movies songs and shows... It would add up to so much.

Once companies realize how potentially marketable and profitable this will be, you'll start to see things fly. :)

What a load of rubbish. Like Tiscali Broadband, you're being lied to in order to suck you in.

While your songs may be free, they're DRMd to hell. You have to keep going back and back again to the site to watch the adverts to keep them unlocked... kind of like a permanent payment.

Sure it's free? You're not free to do what you want with it, you know. You're tied to the site permanently in order to keep your music "free" - true "freedom" can only come with piracy, or the purchase of CDs.

I'm sticking to P2P and the iTunes Store.

Well, that wouldnt keep people comming back for more - talk about a total loss.

If noone goes the site becomes unsuccessfull and if that happens it doesnt stay online. They need it online, because im sure they also profit from this.
