The Food & Drink Thread

For me it depends on what I'm making. I'll sauce my ribs generally and that's it. If I'm making pulled pork I've sauced it when I pulled it, and I've sauced it when I put it on the bun, basically the same, but I prefer the sauce there. Brisket is fine by itself, but some sauce on the side isn't bad.

Had a ham and cheese sandwich on fresh homemade sourdough bread for lunch. Then some kielbasa and fries for dinner, with homemade apple pie and homemade vanilla ice cream for dessert.

It was a good day for food. My boss was in town to do a ride along with me so I took him to a local place known for their huge biscuits. I had also told him about their "large" pancake. He ordered the sausage and eggs plate that comes with biscuit and gravy, as well as a large pancake. While we were sitting there talking the waitress brings a neighboring table their food and his eyes get big and he says, "Geez, look at the size of that biscuit." Our food arrives and his biscuit is just as huge, and the pancake was just like I told him and overhangs the edges of the plate. No, he couldn't eat it all.

We take off to a couple of calls I had in Atlanta. We had decided to hit up one of the Micro Centers while we were there but got there to find it closed for some reason. Bummer. So we hit Ruby Tuesdays for lunch.

We drive back and I drop him off at his hotel. I then get another call for one of my local stores that has a dead battery backup on one of their registers. Since I had one in my car I go on there and replace it. The store does steak and potato plates on Thursdays and the manager mentioned it. I told him that they smelled really good as I came in so he tells me that since I came on out this afternoon he would cover me for a plate and goes and gets it for me. It was about a 12 ounce ribeye and a baked spud.

Three meals, didn't cost me a dime. So once I was home I had me some left over pumpkin pie cake and some vanilla bean ice cream.

Such a ruff life Trotter!

However, I don't envy you having to travel around and come in contact with other people in these times.

Pig candy, BBQ chicken breast and "hot links". More pictures in the next post..
