the 8 series graphics card

so it seems like the 8 series is starting to phase out, and become unavailable pretty soon... dont know when, but if someone can give me an estimate, that would be nice.
So i found a client thats willing to give $900 to me to build him a computer, and i was thinking of giving him mine and i buy one that supports SLi, and is thinking of getting another 8800GT sometime in a few months, maybe near november,
So i was just wondering where i can get a 8800GT if newegg doesnt sell them anymore

maybe. if they still have them in stock and get the newer ones then they might get price drops so they can get rid of them

The 9800GX2 or the HD 4870 would both be much better for the price of an SLI 8800GT setup.

it would be nice to get those, but since i already got an 8800GT, it would be cheaper just to get another 8800GT, and wouldnt have to upgrade for about a year.
while the 9800GX2 and the 4870 is near the $300 mark, and its a bit too much for now.
Though i wouldve spent a total of $300 on 2 8800GT, but at least i wouldnt have to pay the $300 upfront, and only buy the 8800GT when i get the money.

They're not so much being phased out, but being renamed. The 9800GTX has dropped in price to the 8800GTS level, the GTX will effectively replace the GTS. The 8800GT has been renamed the 9800GT, and the 8800GS has been renamed the 9600 GSO.

9600 gso FTW! got mine for 80 its dirt cheap for te 9 series sadly its just and 8 series rebranded.
