Test Suites

Hi all

i just got myself a new mobo CPU and graphics card and want to run some test on it to make sure all of them are working fine because i got a blue screen of death error just like 2 hours after setting up my new windows xp..i am wondering if anyone have any recommadnations?

i have run the 3D mark 2006 and norton systemwork 2006 windoctor so far...

Well, since you've tried 3DMark06, I assume everything went fine, so it probably isn't the GPU that's causing the BSOD's. Try out this program: http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,7146,00.asp

You could also run some benchmarks on your CPU such as SuperPI or StressCPU.

hhmm could it be overheating? or the lack of power?
i only have a 430 Watt power supply and the guy at the shop recommanded me get a 600 watt one..

my specs are a Alton 3700+ Nvidia 7900GT + Asus N4Force graphics card, 1 Gig Ram 2 DVD drives, 1 74 gb hdd and 1 250 gb hdd

As long as it's a quality 430W, I'd think it'd be able to run that. But it'd be close. Mind linking me to your PSU? Also, download Everest Home Edition and check your system's temperatures on load. That could give you an insight as to if it's overheating.

use speed fan to check your systems voltages and tempreatures

then try stressing your system with SuperPI,

and check any hacks, spyware etc etc with hijack this
