Yes.

But some people rant when they're on the normal topics.

People rant in all sections and they still count towards post count. You just said RANTS dont count as posts. you contradicting yourself boy?

That's why anything like this should be based on a member vote instead of post count.

I've seen some new members who really know their stuff. Their post count is low (for a little while), but they shouldn't be cut out of the running.
