Task host window problem on shutdown

Hey, sorry about that. Forgot to reply on Sunday and got busy Monday/Tuesday.

Bug Check 0x50: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Bug Check 0x50: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (Windows Debuggers)

So... some things to try just in case it's not fixed for you (since you said it hasn't happened again):

Check the HDD:
Start -> type 'cmd' (without quores) -> right click -> run as admin -> in the console window that pops up type:
chkdsk C: /f /r
Press Enter and it will say it cannot lock the current drive and to run on next reboot. Type Y and hit Enter -> Reboot your computer and let it run through the check (it may take some time, depending on how big your HDD is).

Check your memory:
Go to: Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool and download the ISO. Burn it to a CD and boot off of the disc. It will start running immediately and will test your RAM. It's best to leave it go for at a minimum of 4 hours (overnight is best). If there are any errors at all, then you need to start testing 1 stick at a time. If any sticks give errors, then the RAM is bad and needs to be replaced.

Also, what AV do you have? Make sure it's up to date, as sometimes the scanning engines/services can be buggy.

ok- Well at least I did do the drop box thing correctly this time - thanks for being patient with me.

AV= Avira, was using Avast- but it was constantly using pop ups to sell me something, downloading updates ,etc. .

OK will attempt those procedures and let you know what happens.

Thanks again

OK - well thought this was finished- but apparently not. Came back to my PC today after it was idle for several hours and I found a window open on my desktop = saying "windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown"

I coped/pasted the problem details -

Does this help? to solve the riddle? Again - the PC seems to run fine - a few CTD when playing BF4 or a heavy modded Skyrim , but the biggest thing that is obviously wrong is that my desktop icons are all scattered ,etc. - the desktop icon changes have been happening occasionally fro some time - but never saw the window saying the unexpected shutdown occurred before.

Help please.

Did you try the things I previously outlined? You're getting the same BSOD that I posted the link to before. (see below)

just finished the HHD test = A Ok - "clean" - will do the Memory test tonight.

Many options on the mem test page you linked. I will attempt to change Boot order so PC will boot from DISC - however- it is difficult to navigate the Bios - as the Resolution ( or something ) is wrong - I can only see about 1/2 the page. Have tried to look up that issue on the new MOBO - have not found a solution or anybody else talking about it.

OK- making sure I understand -

I download the Mem test = ( pre-compiled bootable ISO (.zip)) file , unzip to desktop . Copy to DISC, reboot PC - get into bios ( I think it is F2 on my Asrock MOBO) , change the boot order so the PC boots from Disc, Restart - and the program on the disc will run.... and check the RAM?

ok so far so good- have burned the CD boot disc . I read much of the adobe directions also on the downloaded zip file . I will not configure the test- rather leave it in the default settings.

don't just copy to disc. you need to right click it and select the "burn image" option.

You don't necessarily need to change the boot order. You can get to the temp boot menu (usually with F12) and select your disc drive that way. After you boot to the disc it will auto start the program and check the RAM.

Sent from my Nexus 7

yes - was burning to disc when u were posting.

Test is now running i think it says version 4.3.1

I am on laptop now- will leave the mem test run for 4 + hours and see what shows up tomorrow.

UPDATE: 7:57 AM EST

OK after 5 and 1/2 hours = 6 full passes and no errors.

rebooted and all is A-ok- except now I have the windows "working blue circle" on my network/internet icon in the bottom right of the desktop permanently. I will reboot again to see if it goes away or not. either way - no errors on HHD or in the Memory.

OK rebooted and the windows working blur circle went away. I am wondering if the Razor Synapse software is creating the issue as it is really the only thing that is different since the new MOBO was used regarding any software. I finally just checked the "stay logged in" in the Razor synapse log in window that appears each time I boot up - so it is now visible in the taskbar. Before today I always just turned it off as I really hate having Razor logged into my PC at all times.

I don't know how to "disable from start up". If I delete the software - mouse wont work at all- really not happy with razor- I should not have downloaded their new software in the first place.

I think i will wait a day or 2 with the Razor software logged in - just to see if I get no BSOD during that time- it is weird that the only time it happens is when the PC is not being used and it just sitting idle.

Your mouse should still work, albeit with only basic functions (left/right clicks and scroll wheel are all basic commands supplied by Windows).

To disable it from startup, you can check in the program's settings first to see if there's an option to turn it off. Otherwise, Start -> type "msconfig" (without quotes) -> Press Enter -> go to the Startup tab -> Find the Razer software in the list and uncheck it -> a box will pop up asking to reboot; you can just check the box to never show again, and click "Exit without restart".
