I am planning on upgrading my system and i am going to go with all new memory. I am only getting 1 gig for now because i am getting a lot of other stuff and i kinda have a budget. But anyways when i do get the memory for my system, should i go with 1x1gig stick or 2x512mb sticks. Any imput would be great because i am planning to make this purchase soon.

2x512mb sticks would run faster then just 1 stick of 1gb..

It really depends on whether or not your motherboard supports dual channel RAM.

If it does, you might as well get 2x512, as it will give you a few % increase in performance. Otherwise, get whatever is cheaper:D

it really doesnt matter... i would go with 1 stick if u only have 2 slots, just incase u wanna go to 2gb.. if u have 4 then i would go with 2 sticks..

It really wont make a difference between 1gb and 2x512

2x512MB in dual channel is faster than 1x1GB
