Switching Monitor Source

Hello all! I'm not sure if what I'm trying to accomplish is even doable, but it's not exactly in my realm of knowing one way or the other.

A quick explanation of the situation:
I have an HP 2511x monitor hooked up to both my computer and XBox 360. It's a bit of a pain (see: first world problems) to switch back and forth with the monitor controls, especially if it's dark.

What I'm hoping (and since the controls are on the monitor, I'm not holding my breath) is that I can somehow create a shortcut via the keyboard (such as Ctrl+Shift+`) that would perform the switch automatically. The computer is plugged into the DVI port while the XBox is plugged into HDMI and VGA is unused, if that information is even necessary.

Does anyone know if this is doable or should I stop chasing rainbows?

I think that unless you have any software for your monitor, this will not be do-able.
So install the CD that came with your monitor and check what the software can do

I've checked with my LG monitor software but they do not give me any option to change the input by using the software...
