Switching from ide to sata drives

Hey, recently my WD IDE drive has been starting to fail or seems like as it is making noises when it spins so I decided to get a nice WD SATA drive. I partitioned it and ghosted the contents of the IDE drive to this new SATA drive (named G: now). The problem is when I disconnect the IDE drive it will not load Windows XP, it keeps asking for a system disk. It is set to boot off the SATA drive only and not HDD-0 (which my IDE one was). Question I have is why would it do this, do I also have to change the boot.ini to boot off the G: drive instead of the C: also?

Basically, when you copyed everything over, all the settings stayed the same. What you need to do is remove everything from the SATA drive (format it), and reinstall Windows from it. Then you can put the IDE drive in, making sure it is still installing off the SATA, and copy all the important stuff, minus Windows, onto the SATA. Then remove the IDE drive again and your sorted!
