Sweet and Sour Chicken

There are two types of sweet and sour chicken:

1) one with the sauce all smothered with the sauce, with vegetables, etc.

2) there's this other one where the chicken is deep fried in some flour coating, then they give you a very red sauce that you can dump on it

What is #2 called - if it has a different name?

Yeah, a lot of chinese places do #1 - where its all tasty and stuff... but #2 taste like craaap
