Sunbeam CR-CCTF 120 mm Core-Contact Heatsink - Best way to apply thermal paste?

Anyone have experience with this heatsink? The base is designed much differently (4 parallel copper pipes) and I'm wondering what the best way to apply thermal paste to it would be.

The bottom should be perfectly flat, if it is not I think the heat will not dissapate very well, so the method is the same as normal.

^^ The bottom has the copper heatpipes flattened out on the base, they take up most of the base though.

Just do it normally, I found putting 9 little dots evenly like:

. . .

On the cpu worked the best for me. Pea method was about 2c hotter, but that was my first time re-seating a heatsink so Don't spread though it, since there is room for air in between the heatpipes, which would make bigger air bubbles and air bubbles mean poorer performance.
