If you hate it stop leaching off of it then. Get a job and pay taxed, then you can expect to get money from the government.
I don't have a job so I'm not expecting, but I think my dad is going to get atleast the $600...but he doesn't stand on good terms with the IRS so I'm not 100% for sure.

You have no idea how survivors benefits work do you??? My father was drawing social security for only 4 years before he died, I ended up recieving survivors benefits, so get over it. In the long run, the gov gets to keep what little social security money that is left for them selfs.
Anyways, besides that, we was told that if you are 17 you can't be claimed as a dependant, and I am 19, living by my self now that I no longer get my survivors benefits...

I don't get anything, I made a little over $800 last year. I only worked for 3 weeks before quitting due to stress. I'm looking for a new job now though.

Our government seriously sucks, nothing but suits that want money they didn't earn. our taxes pay their salaries so they raise taxes every year, must be nice to be able to give yourself a raise whenever you want another house or porsche, greedy Bs.
Actually, our federal taxes pay for all kinds of things that it shouldn't pay for... like roads, education, storm recovery, welfare, military, yada, yada, yada. All of these were originally the states' responsibility, not the federal government's. Over time the government absorbed all of these.
The only taxes the government was supposed to collect was tariffs on imports and such. But that was then...
