Hey there.

I currently have a 1TB 7200rpm HD, and what to up the speed a bit.

I have only SATA II connectors on the motherboard, the Mobo does not support RAID by itself.

Would I be better off buying another 1TB HD to put into RAID, or should I buy an SSD such as an Agility 3 and use my old drive for data?

Pricing and such would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Joe

I have a RAID 0 and my read speeds are comparable to a SATA II SSD. RAID 0 would be cheaper than an SSD.

Since you said that your board doesn't have RAID support, RAID 0 is not an option unless you buy a RAID controller card.

In your case, I would just get an SSD and use the existing drive as data storage.
