Ah well, I guess the people who patented the fast food symbols in overseas countries (this could be a urban legend) and sold 'em is sort of this type of thing...but those were large corporations which lost out, and not some goodwill oriented organization. Anyway...
Weird, aggressive hijacking isn't cool and they were offering a widely used free tool a well! ;( I read in the NYtimes('reliable source"hehe) that sex.com was hijacked by someone forging a letter to networksolutions, and after six years the original owner finally got it back after legal wrangling. They guy who stole it is living in Mexico, avoiding the law...but a 'king of porn' after 6 years using the domain.
