Splinter cell error

I just got my hands on a copy of splinter cell and i've loaded it all and installed a patch but when i try to play the game this error comes up

Hey dax-man ,

Thats not strange to hear , ur trying to run a pirated copy of the game , so probably it wont work because of the protection its carrying ...
U need to overcome that protection , but ONLY ONLY if u own the original game cd's...
