Sound problems with Windows Media Player

This problem just came out of nowhere like a month ago. Whenever I play Mp3s with WMP or any program that uses it (Kazaa), if a song has a sharp bassline or hard hitting drums, my speakers make a sound like theyre being blown out. I've double checked with other programs and different speakers- it's definately WMP. Any clue?

By any chance have you got the equaliser set on, and the bass might be set too high for your speakers?

Open WMP up, and go to View, Enchancements, Graphic Equaliser.
Turn it off, and it should work fine again.

I hope this helps :)

I had that before on my pc, the solution above helped me, I hope you dont use kazaa for illegal stuff. *calls the FBI*!!

Nope, I purposely use a really old version of WMP, as in the very first, because I like it smaller and basic. That doesn't have an enhancement option. And I refuse to update.
