Just whipped up a new computer:
MSI k7n2 delta Mobo
AMD Athlon XP 3000
Some DDR RAM
Generic looking v.92 56k Modem
Installed windows Xp and the sound isn't working, the motherboard drivers are installed and the nForce sound config dialog it showing output in the mixer (from test tone), but there is nothing coming out (different speakers/headphones/holes tried). Happens with knoppix as well (cd based linux distro) so not an XP problem as I had hoped.
On a different problem the modem I got isn't working either. Installed drivers, comp seems to be communicating with modem but modem not doing anything about it, can't hear dialling but then I don't have any sound. phone line is working.
If there's anything else you need to know I'll be glad to fill you in, but I'm not really sure what's necessary at the moment.
