sound cards

I am looking to get a sound card finally so i can stop using onboard sound on my dfi lanparty ut sli-dr expert (which i am quite disappointed in because of nvidias buggy software). i do a bit of gaming, rarely watch movies.... but listen to A LOT of music. so i am looking for a new card that suits my needs. Should i splurge and get the x-fi or would an audigy be good? Any other recommendations?

It really depends on how good sound quality you want and how much you're willing to pay. There is a stripped down version of the X-Fi for under $70 on Newegg. This is about the price of the Audigy line anyway:
