Hey guys,
I was just wondering about sound cards. I have had six computers in my lifetime and I have never used anything but the onboard sound chipset. I have installed sound cards before for other people, but never got to hear them in action. I was just wondering how much of a difference I would hear.
These are my speakers
and I have Realtek ALC883 chipset on my mobo. I would probably get one of these two:

What is the difference between these two cards other than price? They seem the same to me...

i think there exactley the same card. but id go with the 29$ one cuz thats the one more people have bought.

what kinda connector do ur speakers use?? just regular headphone jack?

yep, all it needs is the one line-out. I think I'm going to get surround sound speakers for my room at home this summer, but bring the ones I posted back to school with me. They're small, but powerful enough for my needs. I can fit my mid-tower, 22" monitor, the two satellites, mouse, and keyboard on my dorm desk with still plenty of room! But how much of a difference do you think there would be? Maybe it would just be worth it to try it out for fun. $30 isn't a lot anyway. Unfortunately, I just lost my dorm room key tonight and if I don't find it I think I'll owe Housing $80
