I'm convinced it's a problem with the computer and not the house, like I said my housemate's computer doesn't suffer from the same problem, and I'm becoming more sure that it's graphics card related as I can have the computer on for hours with no problem, but as soon as I load up a game like championship manager or rollercoaster tycoon it blows after 5 mins.

Having said that I don't know half as much about computers as I'm sure you guys do, so if I'm talking piffle do feel free to tell me to shut up

again, are you USING a surge protector??? Use a different one then, with a higher setting. Or, if you want to risk it, plug straight into the wall.
