Not sure if what I have is a virus or not but my computer has been acting strangely. Thing is, I am unable to install any program if my wireless is active. If the wireless is active, I am also unable to run Malwarebytes. Instead I get a "The remote procedure call failed" message. I also seem to get that a lot if I try to run any administrative tools. If I deactivate the wireless I can do these things, but Malwarebytes does not find any problems.

I tried a system restore to the earliest date I have (March 14) and it still has the problems.

I have windows 7 with SP1. I am at a loss here, any ideas? I would prefer not to have to re-install the OS if I can.

Log looks fine.

Although, I see you have Norton Internet Security...which could be part of the problem.

IMO, uninstall it using their removal tool:
https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080710133834EN_EndUserProfile_en_us

After uninstalling try to install a piece of software that you weren't able to before. Either way, I'd replace Norton in favor of something better (and free). Avast, BitDefender Free, and Avira are all good (and free) alternatives. If you'd rather pay for an AV, Nod32, BitDefender, and Kaspersky are top.

Removed Norton, added Avast. Ran full scan. Found a couple things, but cleaned no problem, however issue seems to have gotten worse. If I try to log onto windows with wireless on, I get a message "Preparing Desktop" and then it loads and nothing works. None of my programs, I have none of my desktop icons, nothing works. If I log on with the wireless off, I have no issues unless I try to do any admin tools or run Malware Bytes, or install programs, at which point the original problem is still there.

Tried uninstalling your wireless card from device manager and choosing to delete drivers, and then install the latest drivers from the manufacturer's site?

Don't really know how to install drivers. I have gone to the button to update driver, but the computer can not seem to figure out how to find the new drivers?
