That is a very solid motherboard, however I don't recommend it. The 16GB room for memory and the speed allowed are just to bump the price tag. You will never use them. Ever! If you want reasons, here they are:

Unless you OC your CPU or change the memory ratio, the memory will never utilize all of that speed. There probably won't be any new SKT775 CPUs with a high enough FSB that will use memory at those speeds unless Intel decides to give up on the i7. Lastly, by the time programs that need 16GB of memory come out, you will be needing at least a low level i7 to run them.
 
well that makes sense but doesn't solve my problem. i searched for 4 memory slots (240 pin), 775, and either a PCIe2.0 or x16 slot and that was the cheapest one that had the best ratings.

can you suggest one that fits my current specs and is as reliable as that seems to be, for cheaper?
