Other people did not want to see direct a star trek film....
* Micheal Bay - Even when phasers are set to stun, they cause these huge explosions
* The Wachowski Brothers - We will be seeing the Enterprise doing back flips in space.
* Kevin Sorbo - After that he did to Andromeda? NO.
* Uwe Boll - No need to put in an exaplanation
* George Lucas - I don't think he's going to fall to the dark side.

Directors who i would not mind seeing direct a star trek film....
* Peter Jackson - Just don't get him to write the script.
* Steven Spielberg - Provided that the main cast does not include kids, it should be good.

You forgot Ridley Scott - then it has a 50/50 chance of being awesome (yet creepy) or being a D-film.

Did any one seen episode 19 of Fringe. There was a scene that makes reference to Star Trek XI (and II)

 

Agent Dunnan and Peter sees a conspiracy theorists about some of the events that were going on in the series. What start off with some guy explaining the conspiracies quickly turns into references relating to the StarTrek universe and that the Rolumans are planning to invade from an alternate universe.

I found it rather amusing considering that JJ Abbrams was the director of Star Trek XI and was one of the key producers for Fringe
