Recently, whenever I try to open a window such as my computer, my documents, etc., it takes a very long time 5-10 seconds to open these folders. I even made a new folder on the desktop, with nothing in it to test and see if it would open faster. It still takes so long to open. It didn't use to do this, and I don't understand why it started all of a sudden. I have 2 gigs of ram and a 2.1 ghz sempron, which is not much but i would think it would be enough to open a folder quickly. If anyone knows what I could do to make this faster, please let me know. Thanks.

oh wow, i didn't realize i only have 7 gigs left :p but would that be the source of the problem? I haven't had a chance to defrag/cleanup yet

it might, but i would do the defrag and cleanup first, and see if that fixes the problem.

Does RAM not play a factor in this? Im having a similar problem with slow CPU speeds and I JUST reformated....

Go and download, Auslogics Disk Defrag. It's free and a lot better than Windows' version.
