slow network speeds

how can i get network speeds goin faster. will it seem slow wirelessly on a wireless-b? is that just the way it is or what? i just connected a laptop wirelessly and a wired desktop running xp home

Current home network speeds are 1000Mbps, most run at 10/100Mbps. 802.11b run at 11Mbps max, consider upgrading to a 802.11g router which would put you at 54Mbps.

Yes you will experience slow performance on a wirelesss connection, it's just the way it is to sum it up.
