Since I started losing interest in PC's right as the SLI system was coming out, I can't help but feel like I need some professional help all the time. :(

I've been convinced that AMD will suit my needs better than an Intel based PC, but have have no idea if I can run 2 nvidia cards in SLI with this board.

Anyone know how this works and if this board can even accept two video cards?

It can not. Only Nforce chipsets, the skulltrails, the X58, and P55 chipsets can run SLI.

That board can, however, run CrossFire.

likely, yes. bandwidth is sort of an enthusiast thing. it's important but not important enough to make a 10 frames difference. This is what I've heard.

Will the two card running at 8X each perform better than just a single card running at 16x?

Assuming all 3 cards are the same card yes (i.e. 2x 4870s running at 8X will perform better than 1x 4870 running at 16X), however if you're gonna lower the card just to get crossfire, i wouldn't recommend it.

1x 5870 will stomp 2x 4870s, no matter what they are running at.

Yeah, I'm planning on getting a pair of 5770's since I hear good things about them and they are pretty cheap.
