Sims 3 causes my adapter to explode (twice)

Hi, so as the title says my adapter exploded twice each time I plugged too long while playing TS3. I never had this problem for over 3 years plugging while using my laptop, especially heavy games like Tekken 8. Which is why I was pretty confused how could my adapter suddenly explodes when I finally got my hand on Sims 3, it doesn't even have the same problem when I got Skyrim SE.

I don't know if it's because of my laptop which is Lenovo Thinkpad t470's since I heard that Lenovo make bad chargers. [I replaced the power cable at least thrice.] Can anyone help me? I don't want to explode my new charger each time I want to play TS3 because they're kinda expensive here.

Note: My adapter can get pretty heated after hours and hours of playing, but as I said before, it never had any problem. I wasn't sure if it's my electric sockets that is the problem.

Look, if anything happens, then for a reason. And your task is to first find out why this happened.
It's quite likely that you simply used an adapter with too little power and it simply overheated. Leneovo produces adapters from 18 W to 235 W, and it is obvious that the 18 W one is only suitable for charging a computer that is working at normal load or is turned off, but not for powering the computer if you overload it, when it uses large amount of energy.

Also if this always happens from the same outlet or same line in your fuse box you may wanna test the outlet to see if the voltage and/or amperage is too high ( above 105% or higher).

If so may need to consider plugging into a AC Line filter and/or battery back up.

Ah okay thank you, my charger is about 65 W if my math is correct. Don't know how I'll find one above that with cheaper price but thanks for the help :)
