not sure..iv seen them on other sites and its gone pretty well..only spam on rare occasions

Go here if you want to have chat, it was popular here for a few days, but died off pretty quickly after that. Probably because people forgot about it.

Yeah, admins/mods can easily filter otu spam and delete/ban certain posts/users from it.

I think the IRC is good because having a chat box looks really stupid. that's what the random chit-chat thread is for.

this is a nice way to randomly chat without spamming the forums. i just dont think a shoutbox on site would be such a good idea.

Nobody goes on to irc channels, they are too much of a hassle.

Well not really but I just hate going them. Something that integrates very easily into the site would be optimal.

Yeah, the chatbox mod is very minimal and looks highly professional. Going to an external IRC place to chat with other users of this site is kind of out of the way.
