Should I use my TV or a monitor?

I've moved from a laptop to a desktop system at home. The new (well, refurbished) Dell Optiplex system came with a Dell P2011H monitor with a 20 inch screen. I am thinking of selling or giving away this monitor and using my LED TV instead and I need advice. Partly, I'm concerned with power consumption which doesn't seem to make sense. My 49 inch TV states it uses 135W; the much smaller monitor states "240V (UK) and ~1.5A" which I assume means it uses around 360W. Is this correct? Does my big TV use much less power than a small monitor? I've also just noticed that the mini tower unit states 240V 4.6A which means at around 1.1kW it uses more than an electric heater (can that be correct?)
