Dear members:

I just would like to know should i put a failed/failing hard drive (2.5 30gb ibm internal hd) in external enclosure as slave so i can get the data off (its been a month since it has failed) by using a laptop

U can try, if it works it works, it can't cause damage in that form. give it a whirl and PRAY.

Yeah. Why not. Is the data on there very important? There are other ways to recover data from a failed HD, but they tend to be pricey.

its not important at all (just anime moives music etc). so if it does't access the hd that way, can i get the data off by using any FREE software (or under 20 dollars) to get the data off from the failed hd (called provider to confirm it)
