On my laptop i use a wireless card to connect to my dsl box, my bro appears in my network places, and when i double click that i get "shared music" and "shared photos" but when i double click those it says i may not have permission to acces these, why does he appear and why can i not access these?


PS he doesnt know and he has a WEP

Perhaps because he has the settin on the router to not let other uses view files. Does it ask for a password or anything ?

The reason is more than likely because those files have share permissions, but not NTFS permissions. On his computer, you want to go to the folders, right click, go to properties, and there should be a security tab. If the Everyone group is not there, add it, and give it whatever permissions you need.
