The Arecibo Observatory has been plagued with budget problems for years now, but it appears that the future of the world's largest radio telescope is looking bleaker than ever with cuts looming that could shut down the project for good. That grim reality has prompted the guys behind SETI@home to call out to the public in a last ditch attempt to secure donations and support for the Senate bill and House resolution to continue funding. With our luck, E.T. will try and make contact the day the observatory goes offline, so hit the following link and show your support.

Hmm... Is there a specific team we have to join or does every little bit help?

Because I'd like to stay with the CF team.

EDIT- Downloading and running now. It's a neat little program, I especially like the fact that you can see the data being analyzed via the screensaver

yer, some crappy site has problems with budgets and they want people donate. I have enough problems myself then donating to something or someone i don't know

Infact, break it down to me, why should I donate to this? what will this achive? nothing really, something we don't need to know about.

Just proves my point. Read the post thoroughly.

Here's a Wikipedia article. Actually click on the link this time.
