i would love to have a go at building my own pc, but dont know where to start, can anyone suggest a place to look for info on how to do it, where did you guys start i have fitted new hd's and ram and dvd's and did a short course on taking puter's apart and rebuilding them but not sure what processors will fit mobo's etc thanks guys

Here's a nice site that illustrates how to build a computer from part selection to assembly: My Super PC.

I pretty much started like you. My father in law gave me and old 386 system that I promptly tore apart to see how it worked. From there I did upgrades and eventually started building my own.

Atomic Rooster that is a great guide, I would have posted that myself. Do a google search for "build a computer", lots of great articles show up. Make sure you spend time to read before rushing into a build so you don't mess up.
