school wireless router

i have x pd and i play my ds
and i want to play online
and i get a signel from my schools wireless router
but every time i try to connect the net it wont obtain the ip
gate way ect....
any ideas on how i could ether get threw this or get the info from the schools computer(has to be internet based i cant run any thing or use any thing its all blocked but internet i can run scans

well i can access mine at school from my laptop so im not sure but if its anything like the PSP which ive had to get access on those you may have to get the information from one of the computer teachers or something to gain access, i know some places restrict it.
