it seems like most hard drives are either IDE or SATA2 in the stores around where i live.. but my mobo doesn't support SATA2.. just SATA..

are the connections for sata and sata2 different? or is it just speed difference? sata2 are cheaper and usually bigger. i need to buy a couple of hard drives, possibly set them up in raid 0 or jbod because i need to store a lot of video from my HDPVR..

so my question is: is it possible to use these sata2 drives on my mobo? or do i need either a) new mobo or b) different HD ?

thx

Simply put, SATA II is backwards compatible with SATA. If you were to get a SATA II drive, and hook it up to your mobo, it would work perfectly fine.

Yes, there should be no problem with that either. To the motherboard, your hard drives will look like regular SATA drives.
